Why Volunteering with The Jimmy Simpson Foundation Matters

At The Jimmy Simpson Foundation (JSF), volunteers aren’t just helpers — they are the heartbeat of our mission.

Every smile shared, every song sung, every hour given helps create a community where individuals living with brain injury are surrounded by dignity, joy, and hope. Whether you’re coming on your own, with a group, or as part of an organization, your involvement truly makes a difference.

We are excited to share that Becky Plemons has transitioned to Volunteer Coordinator, and she is ready to help connect your time, talents, and passions with meaningful opportunities across JSF.

Why Get Involved?

Your time, talent, or treasure can make a meaningful difference by:

  • Empowering families facing brain injury
  • Bringing joy and dignity to long-term care residents at Safehaven
  • Raising awareness and expanding access to care in Northwest Georgia
  • Supporting a faith-based nonprofit organization with a proven track record of impact

No matter how you choose to serve, you become part of a mission rooted in compassion, community, and care.

We Love Volunteers — In All Forms

One of the most beautiful things about JSF is the variety of ways people show up for our residents and families. If you’re wondering, “Is there a place for us?” — the answer is yes.

  • Groups? We love them.
  • Churches? Come sing — choirs, worship teams, and songwriters are always welcome.
  • Musicians, magicians, and performers? YES, please.
  • Kids learning to read? Amazing — our residents love it.
  • Businesses that want to volunteer together? We have projects ready.
  • Individuals with a heart to serve? You belong here.

If you have an idea, a skill, or simply a willingness to help, we want to hear from you.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

  • Resident activities & companionship at Safehaven
  • Administrative or office support
  • Event-day volunteers (golf tournaments, conferences, community outreach)
  • Support group hospitality and logistics
  • Group volunteer projects and special activities

Whether you prefer hands-on service, behind-the-scenes support, or event-based volunteering, there’s a place for you at JSF.
